There’s always something interesting happening at Delray Beach. Whether it’s with food, music, or art, the locals of this artistic small town are always up for a good time. The calendar is filled with events to start the new year – now you just have to decide where you’re going first.
30th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts
Some things have such an iconic image that they last forever. Anish Kapoor’s Cloudscape. Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Now, we can add the 30th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts to the list. Having established itself for bringing world-renowned artists to the Delray Beach area, and highlighting the works of local artists, people come from all over to get a glimpse. Vendors will sell artworks, jewelry, clothing, food, and drinks, while live music will top off the cultural experience.
Delray Beach Wine and Seafood Fest
There’s no better way to celebrate South Florida’s ocean beauty than with a glass of wine and a day outside. Fortunately, on February 3rd at Old School Square, you can have it all. Local restaurants and chefs gather to host cooking classes, demonstrations, wine pairings, and seminars based on the beauty of food. Small businesses will also be selling their products and services at the vendor stations, including specialty food products, alcohol, handmade soaps, and fashion pieces.
Delray Beach 6th Annual Fashion Week
When in search of the newest fashion trends, many eyes turn to Delray Beach. The merging of both the upscale and the tropical creates an effortless aesthetic that’s unique to the area. It’s no surprise that Delray Beach would be hosting its 6th annual fashion week. Brands and designers from around the world will be both on the runway and in the audience, drawn to the city’s brightly colored and dramatic atmosphere. This year’s event will have shows centering on a ‘James Bond’ theme, featuring the labor and clothing from local hair salons, boutiques, and volunteer programs.
Free Friday Concerts
Old School Square Pavilion is where local bands such as The Flyers and Remix come to the stage to demonstrate their skills, combination of genres and styles, and their greatest hits. The outdoor venue allows you to stretch out and enjoy the great Florida weather as the best tunes wash over your ears. Proximity to area restaurants and shopping means that you can start a night out at a restaurant, and end it with live music.
Mardi Gras Ball at Arts Garage
Even in the heart of January, Delray Beach can find a reason to celebrate. On January 26th revelers will gather at Arts Garage to celebrate the Mardi Gras Ball, for a good cause. Guests are encouraged to wear green, gold, and purple to help raise money for Arts Garage’s goal of providing arts education to the residents of Delray Beach. There will be a silent auction, drinks, dinner, and of course, jazz music.
